On Thursday 1st December Hannah Burkeman, Sales Manager and I attended the Beautiful South Awards for Excellence 2011, held at Denbies English Vineyard in Surrey, where we were nominated for the Large Hotel of the Year. We were up against some stiff competition from the Aviator, Hampshire, Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club, Surrey, Macdonald Windsor Hotel, Berkshire, Old Swan & Minster Mill, Oxfordshire, and Pendley Manor, Hertfordshire.
After enjoying champagne and canapés and a delicious three course dinner, along with 300 other people, the awards began. As we were the last category of the evening to be announced, we waited nervously for our category to be called. We were delighted to be awarded the Highly Commended Award.
All in all it has been a wonderful 25th anniversary year. We have never won so many awards and commendations in a single year and to finish 2011 with the hotel beating stiff competition from around the region to win the Highly Commended Beautiful South Award is the icing on the cake.
Last month we received a commendation in the 2012 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence in the category for venues and hotels that host meetings and incentive events for 10 to 100 delegates, and earlier in the year the hotel won the Silver award for Outstanding Customer Service in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2011.
These awards are a real credit to the whole team and their dedication and commitment to both achieving and exceeding standards of excellence throughout the hotel. We are all delighted with the latest award and it is a wonderful way to end our silver anniversary year.
