Tynley Hall

Press Release

Fran Is A Frantastic Employee

Management at Tylney Hall had no reservations in choosing the recipient of the annual Employee of the Year Award 2007.

The winner was Reservations Supervisor Fran Culley who has worked at the country house hotel at Rotherwick, near Hook, since 2006. Fran started working in the hospitality industry when she was just 16 and has held various front of house positions in different hotels.

When she moved back to Hampshire from Wales she decided to look for another position in the hotel industry and her search took her to Tylney Hall. Originally joining the hotel as a reservationist, Fran was promoted to her current position, which involves taking bedroom reservations and helping with the day-to-day running of the office. She is also actively involved in training new members of the reservations team, assisting the restaurant with diary management and taking bookings for the health and beauty salon.

Members of staff at Tylney Hall are nominated for awards by their heads of department and Fran was delighted to hear she had won the top annual honour.

“I feel very valued to receive the award and am very excited about my prize,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to it.”

Fran won a two-night stay at a London hotel, with tickets for a theatre show of her choice, and was presented with her award by Tylney Hall General Manager Rita Mooney. Fran has booked tickets to see the hit musical Hairspray with colleague Anna Cluett, sales co-ordinator at Tylney Hall, and they are going to celebrate Fran’s success with some spa treatments before the night out on the town.

Runner-up was Deputy Head Housekeeper Magda Gora, who won a two-night stay at one of Tylney Hall’s sister hotels owned by Elite Hotels.

The 2007 Leader of the Year award went to Sous Chef Graham Weston, who won an overnight stay at a London hotel. All managers and supervisors were eligible for the award and Graham was picked as the winner for his leadership and motivational skills.

Miss Mooney said: “Tylney Hall has won many tourism industry awards over the years. All of these accolades are due to team work and the ongoing commitment of the members of staff, which is why we like to reward them with our own internal awards.”
