To celebrate the incredible work ethic of our staff, every year we give them the opportunity to nominate the colleagues who have gone above and beyond their job role in the last 12 months to receive our prestigious Employee of the Year Award.
This year’s winner is our reception supervisor, Maddison White. Maddison has only been at Tylney a little over 18 months and yet she has made a tremendous impact on the whole team. After starting as a Junior Receptionist with us, she was quickly promoted to Senior Receptionist before moving up to her current role of Reception Supervisor – a role which we created especially for her!
To celebrate her success, we sat down with her to find out more about what working at Tylney Hall and winning the award means to her:
What do you enjoy most about your role?
“The best part of my job is getting to meet new people every day. I’m very chatty and a naturally sociable person so to be able to engage with people from different backgrounds with different personalities is very interesting.
“Every guest is here for a different reason and they often have varying requirements and expectations which can sometimes be challenging. However, I thoroughly enjoy rising to each individual challenge, exceeding guests’ expectations and ensuring each guest has a memorable stay with us.”
What does winning the award mean to you?
“I love my job and everything about it so to be recognised for the passion I have for my role, and the hospitality industry, is extremely rewarding. I’m so pleased that I was able to help my colleagues in both reception and other departments of the hotel and that this has been recognised by them. It’s a wonderful feeling to be appreciated and makes me want to work even harder towards my goals.”
