Madame Butterfly

Madame Butterfly is Puccini's sixth opera and is based on a true story. It tells of the love of Cio-Cio San (Butterfly), a tea-house girl, for a dashing American Naval Officer, Lieutenant Pinkerton.

After a sham marriage, Pinkerton abandons Butterfly and returns to America leaving her with their child. Butterfly never gives up hope that he will return, but, when he does it is with his American wife. In despair, Butterfly stabs herself and dies with her child in her arms.

The price for this event is £125.00 per person, inclusive of apéritifs, Champagne and canapés, dinner with fine wines, coffee and the opera performance.

For guests attending the opera, a special accommodation rate is available of £390.00 based on two sharing, including the opera performance.
