As Tylney Hall’s garden author in residence this year, Lia will be taking inspiration from her critically-acclaimed 2019 almanac of the same name, guiding guests on everything from using your garden to grow nourishing fruit and vegetables, to traditions surrounding the seasonal equinoxes and how to spot unique star constellations in the night sky.

Our first event from our In-residence bestselling author, Lia Leendertz. Spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon with a talk from Lia, a mini-tour of the gardens and a delicious spring-inspired Afternoon Tea with English Sparkling Wine.

Lia is the author of the bestselling book The Almanac: a Seasonal Guide, and in the run-up to the spring equinox, she will host an introduction to living by the seasons with an emphasis on  the spring months, followed by a mini-tour around the gardens with head gardener, Paul Tattersdill. Using extracts from her book, Lia will introduce attendees to the many ways they can connect with the seasons and the turn of the year, and will talk about some of the things that make the spring months special: happenings in the sky at night during the month ahead, what is happening in nature, seasonal food, recipes, festivities, and of course the garden.

When? Monday 29th April
Inclusions: Spring-inspired Afternoon Tea, Spring Talk with a glass of sparkling wine

£39.00 per person

The second event of the year will centre around the autumn equinox, the pivotal turn of the year and the start of astrological autumn. Guests will be treated to an autumnal six-course tasting menu highlighting the best seasonal produce, whilst Lia guides the group through the harmonious changing of the seasons and nature’s reaction to this time of harvest.

An interesting account of our natural earth and the wonders of everyday life, Lia will note key astrological sights and explain how we can get ready for the colder, darker months of winter, the food and festivities to look forward to and must-do actions to prepare your garden for next year.

When?  Friday 27 September
Inclusions: Winter Talk with a six-course tasting menu.
