CHRISTMAS EVE - Thursday 24th December
From the moment of arrival, guests are invited to immerse themselves in the charm and elegance of our historic hotel. Take time to settle in and explore the surroundings before joining us from 2:00pm in one of our welcoming, fire-lit lounges, where a festive reception awaits, featuring an array of indulgent sweet and savoury platters.
As evening draws near, enjoy a delightful cocktail and canapés reception with the management team in the elegant Italian Lounge, accompanied by the uplifting harmonies of a local choir performing cherished Christmas carols.
Later, guests will be invited to a relaxed dinner in the Oak Room Restaurant, enhanced by the gentle accompaniment of our resident pianist.
To conclude the evening, gather in the Mattingley Suite for a screening of Midnight Mass from Westminster Abbey, served with warming hot toddies and homemade mince pies — a serene and comforting end to a memorable Christmas Eve.
CHRISTMAS DAY - Friday 25th December
Begin Christmas morning with a leisurely and delicious breakfast, the perfect start to a day of celebration. In the morning, we are delighted to welcome Father Christmas, who will visit with joyful gifts for children and families alike, followed by cheerful carol singing gathered around the fire.
Guests may then spend the morning at their leisure in our spacious lounges, an ideal setting to relax with family and friends and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Mulled wine will also be served in our beautifully decorated lounges.
A sharing family platter lunch will be served in the Tylney Suite, accompanied by fine wines and the elegant melodies of our resident pianist.
For those wishing to explore, a festive picture-matching hunt offers a charming way to discover the grandeur of the house and its picturesque grounds. Together, we will also gather to watch His Majesty King Charles III’s Christmas Day speech.
As evening falls, guests are invited to a Champagne and canapé reception, followed by a sumptuous traditional Christmas Dinner in the award-winning Oak Room Restaurant. The celebrations conclude in the Italian Lounge, where the smooth sounds of our resident saxophonist provide a relaxed and elegant end to Christmas Day.
BOXING DAY - Saturday 26th December
Traditionally a day for family and friends, with relaxation at its heart, guests are invited to enjoy the Health Club, unwind with board games in our cosy lounges, indulge in rejuvenating beauty treatments, or take a leisurely stroll through the hotel’s picturesque grounds.
Join us for a glass of Bucks Fizz before a relaxed sharing platter lunch in the Tylney Suite, accompanied by our resident harpist. The afternoon can then be spent at leisure in the lounges, preparing for the evening ahead.
In the evening, the celebrations begin with Champagne and canapés, followed by a five-course black-tie dinner in the Oak Room Restaurant. Afterwards, the Jazz Trio Omnibus will perform in the Italian Lounge, providing a truly elegant and atmospheric end to Boxing Day.
DEPARTURE DAY - Sunday 27th December
Following a hearty breakfast in the Oak Room Restaurant, we bid you a fond farewell. Alternatively, stay another night or two, you are very welcome to extend your visit.
