As autumn approaches, we head into the final few months of activity to celebrate 250 years of Jane Austen in and around Hampshire. Known and loved across the world for her timeless novels, Austen’s legacy has been beautifully commemorated this year with events, exhibitions, and experiences that bring the Regency Era to life. At Tylney Hall Hotel we are proud to join the celebration, and we invite guests to indulge in a few final opportunities to honour Jane Austen's timeless work.

A Year of Celebration at Jane Austen’s House
For those wishing to immerse themselves further, a visit to Jane Austen’s House in Chawton provides the perfect finale. Open until the end of the year, the museum offers a rich programme of anniversary events. September will see enchanting garden tours and inspiring poetry workshops, offering visitors a rare chance to walk in Austen’s footsteps and connect with her creative spirit. The museum’s exhibitions and special activities provide an intimate view into the poet’s life, preserving her legacy for generations to come.
A Literary Tribute in Winchester
Just a short journey from Tylney Hall, the Jane Austen exhibition at Winchester Cathedral offers visitors the chance to discover fascinating insights into her life and works. Running until 31st October, this exhibition provides a fitting setting for quiet reflection and admiration of the novelist’s influence. The celebrations here will conclude with a truly historic moment, the unveiling of a new Jane Austen statue, ensuring her presence continues to be felt in the city where she spent her final days.
At Tylney Hall Hotel, we are honoured to celebrate this literary milestone alongside our Hampshire neighbours. With so many remarkable events still to enjoy, there has never been a better time to pay tribute to Jane Austen’s enduring genius.
